Michael Owen has predicted which three clubs will drop out of the Premier League at the end of the season.

Newcastle United’s record signing isn’t famed for exciting personality and he certainly hasn’t taken any risks with his predictions.

Owen has gone for the current bottom three to still be there in May 2016.

The betting pundit tips Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Sunderland to go down, with Newcastle surviving.

Despite Sunderland winning at Palace on Monday, Michael Owen still thinks they will be down there when the season ends.

This weekend is a big one for those in the bottom four spaces.

If Newcastle lose at Palace they will drop into the bottom three if either Sunderland get a point or better at home to Stoke, or Bournemouth get a point or more against Everton at home.

Meanwhile Villa have a must win home match against Watford, a win would move them up to eight points, two behind Newcastle’s current total of 10.

Fingers crossed a win for Newcastle and defeats for the other three will see a little bit of daylight (4 points!) between United and the relegation spots.

Michael Owen writing for Colossus Bets:

“I think Aston Villa, Sunderland and Bournemouth are the likeliest relegation candidates at the moment.

“Though Big Sam will no doubt have his side believing once again after their unexpected 1-0 win at Palace on Monday night.

“Hopes that Villa may have turned the corner under new manager Remi Garde after a 0-0 draw against Man City were somewhat dashed when they were hammered 4-0 at Everton on Saturday, and you have to fear for them. And they have only scored three goals in six home games.”
