Kieron Dyer has raised more than a few eyebrows after he revealed where his ‘I’m a celebrity’ appearance fee is going to.

The public see the stereotype modern day football player as desperate for ever larger mountains of cash but Dyer is bucking the trend.

After admitting he is actually taking part in the jungle show presented by Ant and Dec, Kieron Dyer has stated that all the cash he receives from the show will go to charity.

Dyer says he isn’t doing the programme for the money or the fame but to raise cash for charity, as well as pleasing his children.

You might think ‘well he doesn’t need the money’ but one sure thing with the vast majority of well off people is that they are always desperate for more.

So fair play to the former Newcastle player and I have to say I am now awaiting with extra interest to see how our former player comes over on the show…

Kieron Dyer:

“I am very competitive, but I am not going on the show for money, my fee is going to charity. I am doing this show for charity and for my children.”

“I am not going on for fame or recognition. I see the show can revitalise people’s careers but if someone in the camp wants to further their career in the media, I would rather they win than me.

“Obviously if I did win, I would be over the moon but it is not the be all and end all.

“Jimmy Bullard did really well and hopefully I can do well too.”
