Claudio Ranieri ‘Newcastle United are a good team with good fans who push their players’

Claudio Ranieri has praised both the Newcastle team and fans ahead of Saturday’s match.

The Leicester boss says that ‘every match is a trap’ and has taken the line that he is just focusing at the minute to get enough points to make sure the Foxes stay up, despite his team sitting in third position in the table.

Leicester are 13 places and 15 points ahead of Newcastle at the minute and one of the form teams in the Premier League.

Claudio Ranieri says that he is still working hard to marry Italian tactics and English spirit to keep the winning run going at Leicester City.

Ranieri also confirmed earlier that Jamie Vardy had trained ‘a little’ today and would only play on Saturday if the medical staff said so.

As for the events in Paris, the Leicester boss says that ‘we must continue to play football because sport brings people together’.

Wise words indeed.

Claudio Ranieri:

“We are fighting for another 15 points. Every match is a trap.

“Italian tactics and English spirit. I want to work hard to improve both with Leicester.

“We must continue to play football because sport brings people together.

“All our other international players are fit. I’m just waiting for the captain (Wes Morgan on duty with Jamaica), he should be landing now.

“Newcastle United are a good team with good fans who push their players, but we are ready.”
