Bournemouth 0 Newcastle 1
What can you say?
Terrible tactics, terrible performances (from most of the team) but a clean sheet and three points.
If the football gods have been messing with the heads of Newcastle fans this season, just what must Bournemouth supporters think after watching that one…?
It was embarrassing today as the home side out-passed, out-played, out-shot and out-cornered Newcastle United to an incredible degree.
The first time United broke into the opposition half, clever play by Mitrovic and Wijnaldum set up Perez who provided a quality finish.
That was quite literally that for Newcastle in an attacking sense.
The only other time the away team got into the opposition box was in the final seconds, Coloccini heading a free-kick over the bar.
Although the referee did miss the fact that Federici had got an unnecessary fingertip to the ball and it should have been United’s first corner after 16 (SIXTEEN) to the opposition.
Here are the stats from BBC Sport:
Possession was 32% Newcastle and 68% Bournemouth
Total shots was 2 for Newcastle and Bournemouth 20
Shots on target was Newcastle 1 and Bournemouth 5
While corners was Newcastle 0 and Bournemouth 16
Goals…Newcastle 1 and Bournemouth 0
