Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong added another four goals in October for loan club Coventry City.
In the process he has helped lift the Sky Blues to within only one point of top spot in League One, as well as becoming top scorer in the whole country with two more strikes against Barnsley in their latest match this week.
However, you can’t have everything and Adam Armstrong has lost out to Millwall’s Aiden O’Brien for the October League One player of the month title.
Playing alongside another Newcastle loan player, Shane Ferguson, O’Brien was one of four nominations for the October honour.
Bradford City’s Reece Burke (on loan from West Ham) and Peterborough’s Jon Taylor were also nominated along with Adam Armstrong, but missed out to Aiden o’Brien in the end.
Speaking to the Millwall official website O’Brien said:
“It is a great moment for me to win this award but I wouldn’t have been able to without my team-mates. We have managed to start climbing up the table in recent weeks and it is always good to play your part by scoring goals.
“Quite a few of the lads have been chipping in so far this season, which is always important, and hopefully that will continue. October was a good month for us and we need to carry on playing in the same way.”
