Thursday afternoon saw Steve McClaren do his Newcastle v Norwich pre-match press conference.

The United boss confirmed that Dummett, Haidara, Janmaat and Colback are all back in training and in contention for Sunday.

McClaren was also full of praise for the visiting team who he claims have been very good and will be a ‘handful’.

As he also points out though, Newcastle have to win this weekend whoever the opponents are.

Norwich at home should be a banker…

Steve McClaren:

“If we perform for 90 minutes like we did in the first half against Chelsea and Man City, then we will win football matches.”

“We’re at home against Norwich, but it doesn’t matter who the opponent is this weekend. We have to perform.”

“Norwich have been very good. They’ve got the confidence of promotion and have added very well. They can be a real handful.”

“Janmaat has trained the last couple of days. Colback, Haidara and Dummett have all trained and are in contention.”

“Tim’s injury is a massive blow for us. We’ve had a few days to get over it and it’s time for Rob Elliot to step into his boots.”
