It has been revealed that agents creamed off an astonishing figure of over £351m in the summer transfer market.
The biggest agency banked £67m and another eight pocketed at least £15m each.
The figures have been revealed by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, who say that MSM (Mondial Sport Management) has now overtaken Gestifute International Company as the most successful set of football agents.
So where did MSM get the cash from to reach top spot?
Well this summer they helped oversee/broker transfers worth £669m involving players that they represent, which in turn led to them pocketing £67m in return for their ‘work’.
So were any Newcastle players part of their dealings?
MSM are a massive presence in France and Belgium, so no surprise that they were the ones who ‘helped’ Aleksandar Mitrovic and Florian Thauvin arrive at St James Park.
In addition, last summer they were responsible for Newcastle’s two big summer signings from France, Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere.
Whilst other names in their list of clients are Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy, Hatem Ben Arfa and Moussa Sissoko.
It will be very interesting to find out how much Newcastle United spent on agents this summer, as the clubs are now duty bound to release that information.
What a waste though – over £351m going into the pockets of agents from football fans worldwide.

Summer transfer market done deals: £669m
This latest set of information simply underlines that talk of Lee Charnley or whoever at Newcastle brokering deals for players is a lot of hot air.
It simply comes down to whether you are prepared to meet the wages demanded by players and fees by the selling clubs, all of these big deals are orchestrated through agents who know what every other player is on and how much was paid in transfer fees elsewhere.
