Newcastle v Norwich player ratings produce striking results

After the final whistle at St James Park on Sunday afternoon, we asked you for your Newcastle v Norwich player ratings.

Supporters rated all 14 players used and from that there is generated the overall supporter marks for every player.

(Apologies but the company that supplies the stats has missed Cisse off the list after he came on for the last two minutes – understandable in the excitement/shock…)

Your man of the match (fan ratings as at 8am on Monday morning – see below) was Gini Wijnaldum with 9.6.

The first Newcastle player to score four in a match since Alan Shearer 16 years ago, yesterday a Dutch master class in finishing by the former PSV midfielder.

Overall, I don’t think the ratings by fans could sum the match up better.

All four of Newcastle’s attacking players got a mark of 8.0 or better, as well as Wijnaldum’s 9.6, we had Sissoko 8.0, Perez 8.3 and Mitrovic 8.4.

On the other hand, every other player at the back or the more defensive midfielders, got less than 7.0.

Cheick Tiote was woeful and his mark of 4.7 reflects that.

Chencel Mbemba was the best of a bad bunch in the back five and got a 6.8.

The match at Manchester City was a game of two halves, whereas yesterday at St James Park it was more a case of two team – the attacking one and the ‘defending’ one.

If you haven’t already put in your Newcastle v Norwich player ratings, go HERE and you can still input your own marks out of 10 for each player, then check back later to see whether the overall interactive ratings have changed for the team as more fans vote.
