The Newcastle United Under 18s team were in action at Everton on Saturday afternoon, making it six defeats out of six.
The NUFC kids have a dismal overall record of eight defeats and only one draw and a win this season, though it could have been different against second top Everton.
Two early goals saw the match get off to a bright start, Delial Brewster opened the scoring for the home side within seconds of the kick-off, only for Newcastle’s Callum Smith to equalise almost immediately.
On 15 minutes Beni Baningime then put the home side back in front, it staying at 2-1 until the second half, thanks mainly to keeper Nathan Harker having a great game for United.
The match result then revolved on an incident on the hour mark, Newcastle winning a penalty but Mackenzie Heaney putting his spot-kick wide.
Newcastle hung on with only one goal between the team but moving into the final ten minutes, Everton made the points safe when Callum Lees scored to make it a final scoreline of 3-1 to the Toffees.
The result leaves Newcastle 12th of 12 in the table.
