The question we are asking today: ‘Is Sam Allardyce’s arrival at Sunderland bad news for Newcastle fans?’
Friday night saw confirmation made by Sunderland that they had appointed Allardyce on a two year contract, Dick Advocaat having resigned with the mackems the only ones to have as few points as Newcastle.
So how does this affect us and our club; should Newcastle supporters be holding heads in hands at a genius appointment, or is it a case of celebrating that our local rivals have jumped into bed with a serial managerial failure?
The two sides of the argument appear to be:
On the one hand Sam Allardyce hasn’t relegated a club from the Premier League (yet…).
Whilst on the other, his teams play clueless longball football that depresses the fans and eventually gets him the sack, at every Premier League club he has managed apart from Bolton.
