The agent of Victor Valdes, Gines Carvajal, has confirmed that the goalkeeper will leave Manchester United in January.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, Carvajal says that he will find a new club in the next transfer window where the keeper ‘feels comfortable’.

Valdes played under van Gaal at Barecelona but has had a total breakdown in relations with him, after the goalkeeper was claimed to have refused to play for the reserves.

The 33 year old was this morning linked with a move to Newcastle, The Mirror reporting that Victor Valdes could be interested if he was guaranteed first team football.

The Manchester United manager has said he won’t consider letting the out of favour keeper go to one of his rivals at the top of the Premier League, whilst the player’s agent says another Spanish club isn’t an option.

Victor Valdes has no squad number at Old Trafford and wasn’t even included in the official club team/squad photograph.

Tim Krul is definitely out for the season at Newcastle, whilst number two Karl Darlow is also out injured for at least another month.

Much could depend on result between now and January.

However, Gines Carvajal definitely sees his client leaving Old Trafford, whether it is to Newcastle or wherever:

“I’m sure he’ll leave the club in January, I am ready for it. It is clear he has to leave and we will try to make sure he is happy and feels comfortable (at his new club).

“In my personal opinion he won’t come to Spain, unless he says something different. He had the chance to join Valencia but having played for Barcelona it is complicated.”
