After the final whistle at St James Park on Wednesday, we asked you for your Newcastle v Sheffield Wednesday player ratings.
Supporters rated all 14 players used and from that there is generated the overall supporter marks for every player.
Your man of the match (fan ratings as at 8am on Friday morning – see below) was Ayoze Perez (3.9), who despite only playing the second half, once again looked Newcastle’s best player and most likely to produce something.
The only other player to get a score of 3.0 or better was Daryl Janmaat, once again though he only played half the match after being forced off after feeling ‘dizzy’.
At the other end of the scale we have four players who couldn’t even manage to score 2.0.
What makes it worse is that they are the four players who Newcastle were most relying on for goals and creativity in the League Cup match.
With only one shot on target in the entire game, little wonder the following four ended up with these marks.
Siem de Jong (1.8), Moussa Sissoko (1.6), Georginio Wijnaldum (1.8) and rock bottom with 1.4, Florian Thauvin.
Next up we can look forward to Chelsea and Manchester City in the Premier League, let’s hope they can surprise us with the ratings…
If you haven’t already put in your Newcastle v Sheffield Wednesday player ratings, go HERE and you can still input your own marks out of 10 for each player, then check back later to see whether the overall interactive ratings have changed for the team as more fans vote.
(Kevin Mbabu will be relieved as the company that generates the data has missed the fact he replaced Daryl Janmaat at half-time, so our apologies but you can’t mark him)
