Newcastle striker nominated for player of the month award
Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong is one of four nominees to pick up the League One player of the month award for August.
On loan at Coventry City, Armstrong has started with five goals in five matches, including a couple of goal of the season contenders.
The 18 year old scored a brace against Wigan Athletic on the opening day of the season, then another two more away at Millwall.
Adam Armstrong grabbed yet another crucial goal as he helped the Sky Blues to a 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra.
As well as his goals, the number nine has been a constant threat and worked hard for the team, grabbing his chance with both hands as at last he’s had the chance of regular football to progress his career.
Adam Armstrong is on the League One shortlist along with three other players – Bradley Dack (Gillingham), Sam Mantom (Walsall) and Jim McNulty (Rochdale).
The winner is set to be announced on Friday.
