Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has made the team of the Premier League’s most injured players of the twenty first century.

Now in the last year of his contract at St James Park, Taylor has missed an astonishing 1205 days through injury.

Whilst he does have a habit of winding United supporters up with his over exposure in terms of media comments and his fist pumping on the pitch, credit to the Geordie defender who has fought back from a series of really bad injuries.

Whilst Ryan Taylor (also pictured) had his own injury nightmare, that was in a concerted period of a couple of years.

As well as Steven Taylor’s inclusion, another (former) Newcastle player deserves mention.

Victor Anichebe is incuded in the team below and he can ‘thank’ former United Captain Kevin Nolan for many of those days. A shocking challenge by Nolan when Newcastle played Everton, put Anichebe out of the game for a long time.

So bad was the ‘tackle’, that as well as a red card and suspension, Anichebe sued Kevin Nolan for dames, with the then Newcastle midfielder settling out of court.
