Newcastle loan player Adam Armstrong has walked off with the goal of the month award for August at Coventry City.

Starting off in great form, now that he has got the opportunity for regular first team football, Armstrong already has five goals to his name.

The pick of these was a stunner against Millwall in only his second League One match for the Sky Blues.

Picking up the ball over 40 yards out, Adam Armstrong ran in from the left side before unleashing a perfect finish from over 35 yards.

Coventry won the game 4-0 and the Geordie striker received 43% of the votes from the fans for his strike.

Watch video footage of the goal below and Adam Armstrong interviewed about the goal and the start he has made in Coventry colours.

Adam Armstrong:

“It is a great achievement to get goal of the month and I think I’m always going to remember that goal, because it is one that is probably one of the best I have ever scored, it is up there.

“I always look for that (to see if the  keeper is off his line) and I thought this time it hopefully works out, luckily it did and it was a good goal.”
