John Carver features in the betting for the Peterborough United job.
The League One side have sacked manager Dave Robertson after only six matches of the season, with the ambitious club stuck in 20th place.
Defeat at Southend was the final straw and Sunday has seen Peterborough take action.
With only three wins from their last 17 in all competitions, they are looking for fresh blood to invigorate their season.
Where better to turn than the one-time best coach in the Premier League…
John Carver has been priced up at 25/1 to get the job and he is in good company, Skybet also make Roy Keane and former Newcastle youth boss Alan Irvine the same price to succeed Robertson.
Early favourite though is a lower key name, Steve Evans is 2/1 to get the job and is currently manager of Rotherham who are bottom of the Championship.
Former Newcastle midfielder is also included as a 16/1 shot to take over.
