Steve McClaren has revealed that Newcastle must take on Watford without nine of their players.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is suspended and now the number who will miss altogether has risen to nine.

Earlier in the week Steve McClaren confirmed that none of the players who were unavailable for the West Ham match would return in time for this Saturday’s game.

Now in his Friday press conference, the Newcastle Head Coach has confirmed that Steve Taylor is indeed injured with a hamstring problem, whilst Karl Darlow has now also joined the injured list.

With Freddie Woodman away on loan, it appears that McClaren will be forced to rely on Rob Elliot on the bench.

Steve McClaren:

“Karl Darlow has twisted his ankle so he’ll have a scan. He won’t be available. Steven Taylor has a problem with his hamstring.”

This means the missing list reads:

Karl Darlow – Ankle

Steven Taylor – Hamstring

Paul Dummett – Hamstring

Emmanuel Riviere – Knee

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Suspended

Mike Williamson – Elbow

Cheick Tiote – Knock

Sylvain Marveaux -Groin

Curtis Good – Thigh
