Danny Blind has recalled Daryl Janmaat to the international squad as Holland face two vital matches in their final group games.

For the Dutch to have any chance of clinching third, they very likely will have to beat both Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

Even then, if they pip Turkey for third spot in the group, they will still have to go through a play-off to reach the finals in France next summer.

Also named in the provisional squad are Georginio Wijnaldum, Vurnon Anita and Tim Krul.

The odd one out is Siem de Jong, the former Ajax midfielder having started alongside all four of his NUFC Dutch teammates in the dismal display against Sheffield Wednesday.

Daryl Janmaat claimed to feel ‘dizzy’ during that League Cup defeat and had to be subbed at half-time.

Hopefully we will all avoid any dizzy spells at St James Parl on Saturday, with Daryl Janmaat saying that Chelsea are the first of ‘two big opportunities’, the other being Manchester City the following weekend.

Daryl Janmaat talking to the Chronicle:

“We have two tough games coming up in Chelsea and Man City but to us they are two big opportunities. That is the only way you can look at it.

“I see it as two big chances to get points, especially Chelsea at home.”
