Thanks to everybody who helped us come up with our fans choice of the Newcastle team v Sheffield Wednesday.

Using our interactive feature,  NUFC team selector, we asked you to choose your preferred formation and starting eleven.

The most popular was a 4-4-2 formation and the team selection by supporters can be seen below.

Some talking points…

Clearly fans hope/expect that Steve McClaren won’t make changes for this Cup match, with eight selected of the 11 who started Saturday’s match against Watford.

The three changes are de Jong instead of Cisse, Lascelles for Coloccini and Aarons instead of Colback.

A factor in the choices is no doubt an anticipation that there will be at least some changes to the team for this cup-tie.

The fans’ preferred more attacking 4-4-2 formation is also a departure from Steve McClaren’s usual one up front.

The team selected includes Haidara at left-back, despite the Head Coach naming him as one of eleven players who may miss tonight through injury (suspension in Mitrovic’s case).

However, with no other obvious options, supporters will be hoping the reported ‘knock’ that Haidara is carrying, doesn’t stop him turning out tonight, even though he had a really poor game last weekend.
