If he can show his better attributes, clearly Aleksandar Mitrovic could end up being a massive crowd favourite at St James Park.

The feeling is mutual with the striker saying that the fans gave he and the team ‘Passion, Passion’ from the very first minute v Chelsea.

Mitrovic says players and fans can be both disappointed and happy with the Chelsea match, but if they can keep the confidence levels high then the results will come.

Aleksandar Mitrovic speaking to the club’s official tv channel:

“We can be disappointed and happy at the same time, but we had a good performance, especially first half – really good football.

“Chelsea showed in the last 20 minutes why they were champions last year. I think we need to be happy and work hard to keep playing like this next week.”

Feet on the ground:

“You can see we grow every game, it is difficult because two of the games we played with 10 players. Every game though we play better and better and tonight was very good, very good performance from all of the players.

“We need to keep (our feet) on the ground, it is only one point against Chelsea, but with confidence the results will come.

“I didn’t score but it is not about me, it is the team, there is plenty of time for me to score goals. Hopefully I can help the other players score goals as well.”

“From the first minute they (the fans) were behind us, they gave us passion, passion.

“We need to go with confidence to (Manchester) City and try to win the game.”
