Alan Shearer has picked out another five players who were as bad as Papiss Cisse on Monday night.

The United legend said that at times Newcastle might as well have played with 10 men instead of having Cisse on the pitch.

Shearer says that the Senegalese striker didn’t look fit, failed to get the ball under control, didn’t challenge for headers and wasn’t making the effort to get in behind the defenders.

Apart from that Cisse had a faultless performance…!

However, Alan Shearer then added that whilst Papiss Cisse had a shocker against the Hammers, another five players were equally as bad on Monday night.

The one-time Newcastle number nine said that Vurnon Anita, Florian Thauvin, Moussa Sissoko, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jack Colback were equally terrible.

Shearer stating that tehse are the players that you should be able to rely on to try and get Newcastle back into the game and yet they gave nothing to the team.

In the same TV programme on beIN Sports, John Carver said that defenders Massadio Haidara and Daryl Janmaat were the only two giving West Ham any problems in the attacking third.

The former Newcastle Head Coach also saying that Steve McClaren is failing with his ‘Tika-taka’ style football.

Alan Shearer talking on beIN Sports:

“I looked at Cisse and I thought at times Newcastle would be better off with 10 men.

“He didn’t look fit and when the ball went up to him it was bouncing off him, he wasn’t challenging in the air and not running in behind. When he was running he looked as if he was slow, nothing to his game.”

Nothing from any of them:

“I have had a pop at Cisse but it could have been Thauvin, he showed absolutely nothing. Sissoko showed absolutely nothing, Wijnaldum, Anita, Colback…

“So the guys you are looking to, to try and give you a bit of energy, to try and get forward and get you into the game, there was nothing from any of them.”
