Who do you think should be in the Newcastle team v Manchester United?

Despite the disappointment of the result and display against Swansea, the good news is that the options are groing for Steve McClaren.

Despite only one day training with the Newcastle squad, Florian Thauvin says he is fit and ready to play at Old Trafford having had a full pre season at Marseille and played in their opening two matches.

However, I don’t see Steve McClaren making any radical changes to either his team selection or formation, considering how early it is in the season and the fact United’s Head Coach is returning to his old club.

I can see the only changes due to having no option, with Chancel Mbemba moving over to cover the suspended Daryl Janmaat, Steven Taylor coming in at centre-back.

Also, despite hopeful noises from both Moussa Sissoko and Steve McClaren, I can’t see any way he will play after going off injured last Saturday.

I can see Rolando Aarons coming in for Sissoko and playing wide left of three attacking midfielders supporting Papiss Cisse.

A bit of a strange situation as at least on paper we may be left with a bench containing a number of players who fans would ideally like in the team, if fully fit and up to speed at the club.

Top of that list being Thauvin, Mitrovic and de Jong.

I can see Steve McClaren choosing the following Newcastle team v Manchester United…
