Papiss Cisse’s agent ‘Nobody wants to be at a club where you’re not wanted’

Papiss Cisse’s agent has said that if the right offer comes along he will discuss it with the Newcastle striker.

Madou Diene says that as yet there has been no offer from Galatasaray, despite further reports in the media on Saturday.

However, Diene says that no player wants to stay a club ‘where you don’t feel wanted’, a reference to the Senegalese striker now sitting on the bench behind Aleksandar Mitrovic.

His agent says that Papiss Cisse needs to be playing as he’s now 30 and wants to be playing regular football.

To add further fuel to the fire, Madou Diene says that Cisse has scored goals at Newcastle despite never getting ‘proper service’.

I think the majority of fans have the belief that Mike Ashley would be happy to sell him if a decent offer was made, with Cisse being one of the top earners and the fact he will be 32 when his contract ends at the end of June 2017.

The perception amongst supporters was that there was no chance of another striker (as well as Mitrovic)arriving this summer, unless Cisse left first.

With the transfer window closing on Tuesday, the fear is there that Cisse could be sold and no replacement bought.

With Mitrovic continuing his disciplinary form from Anderlecht and now missing the next three matches, it brings it home even more just how fragile Newcastle’s options are up front.

If Cisse left, then Ayoze Perez is the only other credible option to play the role and ideally he’s better playing off the main striker.

Madou Diene speaking to the Chronicle:

“If the right offer comes then I will ask Papiss to consider it, nobody wants to be at a club where you don’t feel wanted.”

“There has been no offer from Galatasaray yet and it is only talk in the media, there has been nothing concrete.

Proper service:

“Perhaps if there was then it would be considered because at Papiss’ age he wants to play regular football.

“No matter which team he plays for he needs service because he will score goals, during his time at Newcastle he has never had proper service, which makes his goal tally even more remarkable.”

“As long as Papiss is here he will score goals but he can’t do that if he’s sitting on the bench.”
