After the final whistle at St James Park on Satirday lunchtime, we asked you for your Newcastle v Arsenal player ratings.

Supporters rated all 14 players used and from that there is generated the overall supporter marks for every player.

Your man of the match (fan ratings as at 10m on Sunday morning – see below) was Tim Krul, who made a series of impressive saves for his 8.5 rating.

No surprise to see that next best were the two centre-backs in front of him, both Chancel Mbemba and Fabricio Coloccini scoring 7.8.

Nobody received a particularly bad rating from the starting 11, with the exception of the red carded Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The three at the top though were testament to the job Newcastle did in defending with 10 men for all but 16 minutes of the match.

The fact it took a deflected goal to eventually beat them says it all.

So a gutsy display but no points.

It will be a long 16 day wait until that next game at Upton Park – let’s hope for a change of luck that day.
