Aleksandar Mitrovic has sent out the battle cry ahead of this lunchtime’s match, the Serbian striker saying that Newcastle are going to attack Arsenal from the very first minute.

The United forward says that they know what Arsenal will look to do, which is play their normal game of fast attacking football.

However, he says that this is also Newcastle’s intention, to play good football – pointing out that United are at home and of course now with the new signings it is hopefully no idle threat/promise.

Aleksandar Mitrovic talking to BT Sport just before kick-off:

“We are ready for the game, they will try to play fast and to keep the ball, but we want the same.

“We want to play good football, this is our stadium and we are going to attack from the first minute.”

I can’t wait:

“I hope I will score but it is more important that we get one or three points today.

“This is my first start at St James Park and I’m very happy, I can’t wait for the game to start”

Steve McClaren has left out Ayoze Perez and Florian Thauvin starts his first Premier League match for Newcastle.

Moussa Sissoko has recovered from his injury picked up at Swansea and also makes the starting eleven, replacing Gabriel Obertan.

As expected, Daryl Janmaat is also recalled after suspension, with Mbemba moving back into the middle.
