Newcastle United were lucky it was only 2-0 to Swansea in an embarrassingly one-sided match and now we can all look forward to John Carver and Steve Stone dissecting this defeat.

The former United pair are the special guests on Sky Sports programme Goals on Sunday tomorrow morning.

What a treat that will be…

The pair have not been picked up by another club since United parted company with them in advance of Steve McClaren’s arrival.

Bad enough that Newcastle were so feeble today, though I suppose it will be interesting to hear what the former NUFC management team have to say about the relatively new look side.

Sky Sports:

Former Newcastle manager John Carver and his assistant Steve Stone will be in the Goals on Sunday studio this weekend to cast their eye over all of Saturday’s football action.

Carver, who left Newcastle in the summer after successfully guiding the club to Premier League safety, joins Ben Shephard and Chris Kamara on the sofa to discuss life away from St James’ Park.

Former Nottingham Forest and England winger Stone will be alongside Carver once more, as the pair offer their thoughts on a new-look Newcastle side under the tutelage of new manager Steve McClaren.

Ben and Kammy will dissect the weekend’s major talking points from the Premier League, Football League and SPFL.

On top of that, they’ll look ahead to the Super Sunday double-header – Crystal Palace v Arsenal and Manchester City v Chelsea.
