Nile Ranger appears after 8 months 10 days in hiding

It is always good for the soul having a laugh at another football club’s expense, especially when the joke is on Nile Ranger.

Although I do have to say that Blackpool supporters are deserving of every sympathy with what the owner has done to their club.

Nile Ranger went AWOL last November, despite having signed a contract to the end of the season, with the club having the right to add an extra year if they chose to.

The one-time Newcastle problem suddenly announced that he was ‘struggling to fill the fridge’ on the deal he’d agreed and disappeared from both training and playing.

In Nile Rangers’ absence, Blackpool were predictably relegated due to the mountain of problems facing the club, due to the owner’s shocking conduct.

However, in advance of the new season, Blackpool confirmed that they were going to take up the clause allowing them to have Nile Ranger for the coming season.

The striker had talks with new manager (and former Newcastle player) Neil McDonald last month, agreeing to start training 10 days ago – once again failing to show.

However, today the Blackpool Gazette have reported that Nile Ranger has at last shown his face and they understand he trained earlier today with the rest of the Blackpool squad.

I wonder just how long the superstar will stick it out this time…?
