Predicted Newcastle team v West Brom

Who do you think should be in the Newcastle team v West Brom?

With Williamson and Janmaat ‘opting out’ following their dismissals at Leciester last Saturday, the options shrink even further.

Despite John Carver trying to put a positive spin of the ‘cavalry are on their way’ in the shape of Aarons and Cisse, the very most we can hope for is they could sneak a place on the bench, but surely that must carry a major health warning for both of them considering their combined comeback game time is the 45 minutes Aarons had for the reserves on Tuesday.

After 8 defeats in a row something needs to change….a new approach and maybe some changes out of the ordinary.

I suggest the team below which includes:

Lubomir Satka – surely with no other options we have to play this young defender rather than trying to force another square peg into a round hole?

Jonas at left-back – add a bit of height to the defence and a bit more physicality than Anita.

Anita – push him into the midfield and hopefully he can help Newcastle keep a bit of possession.

Ameobi – you could pick any of him, Obertan or Cabella but at least Sammy has some height for helping to defend set-pieces.

After John Carver’s press conference on Thursday, it looks like the following are the choices available to fill the eleven shirts on Saturday at the King Power stadium:

Definitely Available: Krul, Ryan Taylor, Colback, Anita, Coloccini, Gouffran, Ameobi, Cabella, Perez,  Gutierrez,  Ferreyra, Woodman, Obertan, Sissoko, Riviere, Satka, Kemen, Abeid

Possibles: Dummett (waiting for result of scan), Armstrong (calf injury)

Might be OK for bench but not starting 11: Cisse, Aarons

Definitely out:  Janmaat, Williamson, de Jong, Elliot, Steven Taylor, Alnwick, Haidara, Tiote

I predict the line-up and formation below.

To create the image above I used the NUFC team selector.

You can do the same by following the simple instructions HERE and then there are a number of great options where you can then also share your team via Twitter (include @nufcthemag in your tweet and we will share some of the teams you put up with our 13k+ followers) , or you can share the selector on Facebook with friends, family and the rest of the black and white world. Alternatively, simply downloading the team image to the device you are using

When using the NUFC team selector you simply click on what team formation (4-3-3, 4-4-2 etc) you want, then click each position on the pitch and choose from the Newcastle United squad.

Go to the NUFC team selector now and choose and share your Newcastle team v West Brom.

Before every match, simply go to the menu at the top of this screen and click features, then on the drop down list click NUFC Team Selector and choose your team for every match.
