Michael Owen predicts more misery for Newcastle

Michael Owen believes Leicester will beat Newcastle today and drag them into the heart of the relegation battle.

The TV pundit predicts more misery for United and a club record eight defeats in a row, beating the seven in a row record that John Carver and his players set last weekend with that loss to Swansea.

A win for Leicester would take them to one point behind Newcastle’s 35, with Owen seeing home advantage a a vital factor today.

Considering NUFC have won only once away from home (Hull) in the last 142 days, it is difficult to envisage an away win.

Michael Owen writing in his betting column for Bet Victor:

“I shall be at the King Power Stadium (working for BT Sport) and expect the Foxes to bounce back from their defeat against Chelsea midweek when they played well for an hour.

“The Magpies are unbeaten in their last nine league games against the Foxes but are hardly finishing the season with a flourish.

“Leicester can move within a point of the Toon with a win and I think they can make home advantage count.”

If other results go against Newcastle this weekend then they could drop to sixteenth in the table and only two points off the releagtion zone.

Villa, Hull and Sunderland (as well as Leicester) all play at home and are the four desperately trying to get out of trouble below United.

Burnley and QPR looking unlikely to catch Newcastle as they are respectively nine and eight points behind United.
