With Newcastle United in disarray on and off the pitch, John Carver has admitted that he doesn’t know where the next win is going to come from.

Having described himself as an excellent motivator before the derby game, the Newcastle Head Coach was then left in the humiliating position after the feeble defeat, of admitting half his team hadn’t put the effort in.

With only 2 wins in 13 matches, John Carver says he and his coaching staff are going to put a ‘lot of thought’ into how to get the best out of the Newcastle players…

“We have only got 35 points and you need 40 points – we have got seven games left and down to the bare bones.

“You’re thinking where are the next points coming from but we have to turn this around somehow.”

Looking for a win:

“I’m just looking for the next win, I’m not thinking about the end of the season.

“It is important that I stay focused and work with the group of players that I have got to get the best out of them. I have to come up with something along with my staff to do that and a lot of thought will go into it.”
