Ahead of SAFC v NUFC – Premier League recent form table

9 years ago

The Premier League recent form table just about sums up where north east football is at, in the lead up to Easter Sunday’s clash of the heavyweights.

The only positive for Newcastle fans is surely that the mackems are even worse.

If you look at their last half dozen Premier League matches, Sunderland have two points to show for them.

Looking at the table below, you will see that QPR are third bottom with one win and five defeats.

That win was at Sunderland, QPR’s first and only points they’ve gained away from Loftus Road, all season!

Thirteen defeats and one win away for Rangers, that is how bad Sunderland are.

Sunderland’s last six results with latest one listed first;

West Ham 1 Sunderland 0

Sunderland 0 Everton 4

Hull 1 Sunderland 1

Man Utd 2 Sunderland 0

Sunderland 0 West Brom 0

Sunderland 0 QPR 2

Of course United are giving it a good go themselves.

Optimistic/deluded players still talk about the possibility of putting a late run of wins together and finishing the season off on a positive note etc etc.

That win has to start on Sunday against the worst team we’ve still got to play in the remaining matches.

Newcastle’s last six results also listed with the latest result first;

Newcastle 1 Arsenal 2

Everton 3 Newcastle 0

Newcastle 0 Man Utd 1

Newcastle 1 Aston Villa 0

Man City 5 Newcastle 0

Palace 1 Newcastle 1
