Newcastle player grabs 2 goals in 3 minutes to help save Rangers

In a week when the topic of the Newcastle loan players at Rangers have made headlines for all the wrong reasons, it was ironic that United’s Haris Vuckic scored 2 late goals in only 3 minutes to help rescue his temporary club.

A goal up against second bottom Cowdenbeath, Rangers looked to have blown it when with 14 minutes to go the visitors made it 1-1.

However, the brace from Vuckic and a goal from Darren McGregor saved the blushes of the Ibrox outfit.

The Newcastle striker/midfielder had only come on with twenty minutes remaining but perfromed the role of supersub to perfection.

The win means they are now favourites for second spot in the Scottish Championship, level on points with Hibs and with a game in hand.

Starting only seven matches so far for Rangers, Haris Vuckic now has five goals for his on-loan side and has at least shown that he has the ability to pick up a decent club when he moves on from Newcastle.

Still no sign of the other four Newcastle loan players as the Mike Ashley affected Rangers circus rumbles on.
