Newcastle injury news – United defender Massadio Haidara has now declared that he should be fit to face Manchester United on Wednesday night.
Not many fans would have put money on the left-back’s availability as he was stretchered off in the second half against Villa.
However, Haidara now says that this was just a precaution and he is desperate to play against Man Utd.
Massadio Haidara told the Chronicle:
“I am OK – it was not really bad and I think I was brought off as a precaution because we play on Wednesday against Manchester United.
“I will try to do everything to play.”
John Carver had already said post-match that he also thought Haidara should be fit, though if Ryan Taylor was/is in a position to start, then it might become a more difficult decision as to who plays anyway. Taylor was the coolest head in the closing stages against Villa, while some around him were flapping.
