Our old friend Harry Redknapp has picked out Sunderland for a special award.

The out of work former QPR manager believes that on recent form Sunderland are the worst team in the Premier League.

On top of that, Redknapp believes it is going to be tough for the mackems to avoid relegation.

Speaking to Talksport Harry Redknapp said:

“My honest opinion? I think Sunderland at the moment are the worst team in the division.

“QPR went there and beat them two nil just a few weeks ago and I think they have got it all on, Sunderland. I think it is going to be tough.”

Sunderland’s relegation rivals:

“I think Burnley and Leicester are decent teams, they will still have a go.

“While QPR have two decent away games (West Brom & Aston Villa) where they need to pick up results – one result could turn it around for them.”

With no wins and two draws, Sunderland are rock bottom of the Premier League recent form table as shown below.

A week on Sunday is a golden chance for Newcastle to help the mackems on their way to the Championship.

However, Newcastle have only picked up four points themselves and sit fourth bottom in terms of recent form.

A draw at Crystal Palace and a narrow win against Aston Villa have been the only bright spots in the last half dozen games.

A defeat at Sunderland would leave Newcastle in that relegation zone of recent form and more importantly would mean that yet again six points had been gifted to help them potentially stay up.

Last season Sunderland would have been relegated if it hadn’t been for the six points they collected in the two derby matches.

Easter Sunday is make or break for John Carver if he is to have any chance of turning the tide of supporter opinion – no pressure then!
