Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez’ agent has been responding to transfer rumours regarding his client.
Olaf Bonales has told media in Italy that he can’t see a move happening in the near future.
Having been previously linked to a move to Roma, Bonales was asked whether a move to Italy could still happen:
“At the moment I do not think so but who knows what will happen? We prefer to remain in England and he (Perez) still has four years on his contract with Newcastle.”
In an interview with Italian website calciomercato Olaf Bonales added:
Has Ayoze Perez been close to moving to Italy in the past?
“He was very close to joining Roma but in the end (Director of Football) Walter Sabatini didn’t close the deal. This was before he went to Newcastle in summer 2014. We were in Rome with the player’s father but in the end the requests we made weren’t met and they didn’t make us an appropriate offer.”
What about the talk surrounding Manchester United and other clubs?
“There is no need to change clubs, everything will happen naturally. Right now it is better that he is relaxed.”
