Wednesday night sees United take on Crystal Palace and Alan Pardew for a match that most Newcastle fans will extra desperately not want to lose.
Maybe surprisingly, only two places separate the two teams in the recent form table.
The win at Hull has saved Newcastle from being down next to the mackems over this last six game period, while Pardew delivering three Premier League wins out of the four has given the Eagles a massive lift.
In their last six matches Palace have won three (1-0 v Leicester, 3-2 v Burnley and 2-1 v Spurs), only one defeat 1-0 to Everton and two draws: 0-0 against both QPR and Villa.
On the other hand, Newcastle beat Hull 3-0 and Everton 3-2, with a 1-1 on Sunday against Stoke and a 3-3 draw with Burnley. The two defeats coming against Southampton 2-1 and Chelsea 2-0.
Let’s all hope that his former players can put an end to the momentum Alan Pardew has built up at Palace.
