Only 24 hours before the January transfer window shuts, Moussa Sissoko has given his latest interview to French media.

Earlier this week an interview with Foot Mercato appeared to be very much a ‘come and get me’ plea to a ‘bigger’ club that could offer Champions League football.

Tonight, the Newcastle midfielder was on TV appearing as a special guest on beIN sport’s Sunday club, along with Yoan Gouffran and Massadio Haidara.

Get French Football News have reported on what was said, which included the following;

“I have an agent, Bakary Sanogo for everything. If a club calls him, he will call back.

“For me today, I am a Newcastle player and Newcastle is in my head. I want to play in the big competitions, at the moment I am not able to do that. Why not play Champions League with Newcastle?”

“I want to keep progressing and enjoy myself on the pitch. I want to play Champions League, with Newcastle if possible.”

While he has toned down what he’s saying compared to earlier this week, talk of fulfilling his Champions League dreams with Newcastle will hardly convince anybody with the lack of investment in the team under Mike Ashley.

In answer to possible interest from clubs, especially PSG, in this window, Sissoko made the comment about if an interested club phones his agent then he will ring them back.

Nothing new in this interview but just a little more to stir things up as we have another day to endure before the window closes at 11pm tomorrow, with reports tonight that Mike Ashley has got yet another well paid player off the books – Davide Santon said to be en route to Inter Milan for a medical tomorrow.
