Give us the heart of a David Kelly
Everyone has a right to comment on the current situation at Newcastle United and I’m not going to knock back anyone’s opinion.
I have to admit I haven’t darkened the doors at St. James’ for 13 years or so, the 4-3 against the Mancs, but let me give you my CV:

Taken by dad to various games in the early 70s
First full season was 77-78 relegation nightmare
First away game Oldham, 3-1 March 79, oh happy days
First full away season bar one game was Cox’s first, saw 3 goals away all season!
Was at Exeter ‘81 away, 4-0, still didn’t deter us
Was there at Portsmouth at home 92, Kelly the saviour
Yes the Keegan years….but I paid the price
Moved to Northern Ireland in 2002….totally enjoy watching honest Northern Ireland premiership, Cliftonville are the boys to follow!
What I can say being 300 miles away, is that, the problem is not Pardew, the problem is not Carver, the problem is not the players.
Mr Ashley, the blame lies entirely at your door.
I’m grateful that we are not in the situation of a Leeds or a Rangers, but ffs, this is not a rag trade business. This is the heartbeat of a people. A heartbeat that can lift its people out of the misery of the lives they sometimes have to lead
Give us an owner who is prepared to believe in that. Give us a chance to be proud again. Give us someone with the heart of a David Kelly, who cares as much as we do.
Then perhaps…….
Belfast Geordie
