Andre Ayew is reported to be in talks with Newcastle for a summer transfer from Marseille.

The left-sided attacking player has been linked with United any number of times and with only a few months of his contract left at the French club, he can now make a pre-contract agreement for a move at the end of the season.

French radio station RMC say that United are negotiating with the player and his representatives, although Borussia Dortmund are also reported to be doing the same, with Everton and Liverpool also having made contact with Ayew.

The Ghana international just missed out on an African Cup of Nations winners medal, missing out to Ivory Coast in that tense penalty shootout.

Ayew had great personal form in Equatorial Guinea, playing in all six matches and scoring three goals.

Marseille are in second place in Ligue 1 only two points off top spot, Ayew scoring three times so far in fourteen league starts.

However, they haven’t come anywhere near offering the player what he wants to stay at the club and they appear resigned to him leaving at the end of the season for nothing.

The twenty five year old has indicated he’d prefer to move to England so it remains to be seen who comes up with the money.
