Claims of Newcastle transfer bid for Dame N’Doye

Claims today that Newcastle have offered just over £3m for striker Dame N’Doye.

Everton and Hull have been linked with the Lokomotiv Moscow forward in recent days but now reports from his native Senegal have claimed that United have made a firm bid.

Newcastle were heavily linked with the striker back in summer 2012 when it was expected the club would build on the fifth place finish in the Premier League, with claims at the time that Alan Pardew wanted him.

However, no new striker was recruited and instead N’Doye moved from FC Copenhagen to Moscow for over £4m.

The forward scored 57 goals in 85 league matches in Denmark, then has followed that up with 27 in 66 league games for Lokomotiv.

With fans sceptical that any signings at all will be made this transfer window, it looks even less likely that Dame N’Doye could be a possibility even if that changed.

At the age of 29 it would appear unlikely that Mike Ashley would bring in a striker of that age, especially as the club appear to be trying to be pushing another 29 year old forward out of the door, in the shape of Papiss Cisse.

Ironically, both Cisse and N’Doye are together in Equatorial Guinea at the minute on African Cup of nations duty with Senegal.
