No doubt Mike Ashley will be laughing as yet another abysmal day has gone by for Newcastle fans.

It is bad enough for the vast majority who kept track on what was happening at the Leicester v Newcastle FA Cup match from a distance.

However, a quite unbelievable 4,319 Newcastle fans were here today to see this absolute disgrace.

A terrible performance against the worst team in the Premier League and all of Newcastle’s best players, and Yoan Gouffran, left on the sidelines.

John Carver assured fans in the lead up to today’s match that Mike Ashley hadn’t ordered him to play a weakened team (see our poll of fans) but I doubt you will find many of those 4,319 supporters who would believe that as they make their way back home.

Seven changes made from the Burnley match with Moussa Sissoko, Fabricio Coloccini, Ayoze Perez, Jack Colback and Daryl Janmaat all missing today – Steven Taylor injured of course and the aforementioned Gouffran on the bench.

As the second half went on with United trailing to a Leonardo Ulloa goal, the Newcastle fans made their feelings known.

Chants included;

“We’re shit and we’re sick of it.”

and

“We want Ashley out.”

At the end of the match the anger flowed from the terraces towards Ashley, Carver and everything in black and white. The caretaker manager looking visibly shocked at the depth of the venom aimed at him personally for his part in this mess.

Oh well, at least it is only Chelsea next week and obviously these terrible injuries Coloccini, Janmaat, Sissoko, Perez and Colback suffered will mean no chance of them playing at Stamford Bridge…
