One Horse Race In Newcastle Man Of The Match vs Crystal Palace Contest

It was a one horse race when it came to our Newcastle man of the match vs Crystal Palace vote after the Palace match, Rolando Aarons scooping more than two thirds of the vote.

Maybe the only surprise is that he didn’t get more than 67% of the fan votes considering he did more in 23 minutes going forward than all of his teammates combined over the full 90.

Daryl Janmaat deservedly finished in a distant second, putting in a steady performance and adding a goal thanks to his determination to score, something missing from most of those around him.

After those two I think any of them were fortunate to get any votes for being supposedly the best in black and white.

Especially Coloccini, ironically he did head a lot of crosses and long balls away but in general play he was shocking and at least partly at fault, both individually and as a Captain, for potentially all three goals.

The same can surely be said of Tim Krul who could and should have done better with the first two goals.

67% Aarons

10% Janmaat

  7% Colback

  6% Haidara

  4% Coloccini

  2% Williamson

  1% Krul
