PapissCisse45Following his glorious goal against Southampton last Sunday, Papiss Cisse has been reflecting on his golden goals in a black and white shirt, plus the one that got away…

The Senegal striker is one of those who tends not to score many tap-ins and with his style of tending to hit the ball early, it can at times go spectacularly wrong or as in the case of against Southampton, spectacularly right.

Asked about which goal he rates as his best for Newcastle United, Papiss came up with a top three;

“The goal last season at Chelsea has to be number one, then Sunday’s goal (v Southampton) would be second, then in third the one at Swansea last season”.

However, Cisse also was keen to talk about possibly his greatest ever goal but which was also the one that got away;

“There’s a famous story about my best ever goal when I was growing up and playing in a big semi-final in my town.

I was 16 and I took a free kick around thirty yards out, I passed it to my teammate and when he passed it back I hit a powerful shot

When the keeper tried to catch the ball he fell into the net with it and with the nets back home not been that well held down, the whole thing collapsed and the ball flew back out of the net.

The referee thought it wasn’t a goal and didn’t give it, by luck though somebody had filmed it and so everybody could clearly see it had gone in.

The ref was then notorious and not allowed to referee another match!”.

What do you rate as Cisse’s best ever goals?

Hopefully he will get another classic today at Swansea to beat them all !

Absolutely unbelievable.  Rangers fans must really love Newcastle.

I seems as if we did a great deal! and at the moment Vukic seems to be keeping them afloat

You would think that Rangers were the only club in history to take injured players on loan, we've had our share most recently Stephen Ireland.

@1957  True, Facundo Ferreyra, Nacho Gonzalez, ........

I think Remy was injured when we signed him too.

Has Ashley been spending United's money on Rangers?.... is that the missing £28.5 million in the accounts?

George McLean - this can't be true?

Good it seems we are not being shafted after all seems a sensible inclusion when you consider the massive increase in revenue which will head rangers way after promotion.

You can't blame nufc for the sfa not allowing Gael to play or street e's injury even for that matter Vukoc's goals

@Maximus Moose @No Brainer Of course your right, its in the accounts, the dividends he has been paying himself each year. Cannot remember how much that comes to now? maybe Chis Holt can let us know?

Last week it was reported that nufc had spent a net plus of £2m per year on average more on players than they have recouped from sales since ashley took over.

That needs a sharp increase this summer

Would think 8 years of TV money + tranfer dealings + gate money = MILLIONS into his account/pocket that's hes now worth £4.5 BILLION

What deals will this guy have in place at Newcastle when he does get round to selling your club. Even if it is a deal done out of spite at Rangers I couldn't see this bloke walking away from your club without a lot more than he deserves.
