Newcastle United v Chelsea - Premier LeagueIt is reported that Alan Pardew will not only give Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa his debut tomorrow night, but that Sissoko, Cisse, Tiote and Cabaye will also play against FC Metalist Kharkiv.

The Chronicle are reporting as fact that all four will play, which would give Newcastle United a great chance of making it through to the last 16 with a home leg result to set up the away tie next week.

Those names should hopefully get the turnstiles ticking over and a crowd to match the occasion, Alan Pardew giving the following rallying call to the supporters;

“It will be a strong side, we all want to have more European nights at St.James’ Parl and teh last sixteen is within sight for Newcastle United.

Getting past the group stage was tough and so we don’t want all that hard work and effort going to waste.

We’re trying to win the Europa League”.

I was looking forward to Thursday night anyway but now I just can’t wait!

Just a little insight with first hand experience of the money going to cheapshitfromchina.com. My best m8 spoke to the commercial department at St James's park about endorsing his product. So he set up a meeting about getting his product endorsed. He went to the meeting and in walked a representative from................. Yes you guessed it, what a surprise 😀😀😀 cheapshitfromchina.com. They made astronomical demands with hardly any of the profit going to my friend and the rest going to them, with him paying the full cost of the product. This deal was with them and had nothing to do with NUFC AT ALL. The only mention of NUFC was to put the logo on his product. Needless to say he never developed the product.

I can't help but wonder what the Mirror get out of giving us £250k to have their brand logo on display at the Academy?

What do they get out of it? Who on earth will see it at such a non-public venue?

Looks like the end of critical articles from Simon Bird then.  Wonder what he thinks about it?

Shite Directs increases it's advertising spend at the Mirror but still doesn't give the club a penny for the free advertising at the ground and training facilities. The loan to Ashley would nearly be paid off if we got the market rate for that free advertising over the last 8 years but he wants to keep the loan outstanding to put off potential buyers. He's quite happy to rape the club for his own ends.

what is the market rate for stadium advertising out of interest

@desree

It's hard to gauge because some stadium naming rights also include shirt sponsorship and perimeter advertising. Man City got 400m over 10 years for The Etihad although most people see that as well overvalued. Chelsea and Spurs are rumoured to be looking for around 10m to 15m for stadium naming rights alone.

What I do know is that Ashley's wealth has more than doubled since he took over the reigns at SJP so even 20m per season would seem like small fish in comparison with his 2b rise in wealth.

I guarantee Mike Ashley didn't spend a minute on this deal. The CEO of a 2bn business does not broker or get involved in a contra deal worth 250k.

Why do you keep winding yourselves up over what is in the end a minimal business transaction.

its a good point you raise notts toon and I agree. This deal creates far more damage to the club and sports direct than 250k.

I don't understand the logic of it, clearly the club has no control over media messaging.

NottsToon

Because this deal is solely about money rather than controlling media perception right?

How's it working out so far?

Remember what was said about the media deals at the fans forum?

Oh God NO! He's got the club another £250k income per year. The SCANDAL!

Who cares? Literally who cares?

The Mag has become a modern stereotype of the Cold War. Instead of "Reds under the Bed" it characterises every single decision of Mike Ashley as evil and corrupt.

Think you need to go to the same institution John Carver has just got out of. He has got cheapshitfromchina.com £250,000 a year you lunatic, nothing will go to NUFC.

What planet have you been living on?

Chemical Dave

He hasn't got the club anything other than another £30m in debt you daft biddy.

Instead of negotiating commercial deals, he should be negotiating a deal for a players,,, we are thread bare and desperate for another center back,,,,,,

He is more interested in commercial deals than football deals unfortunately .

@Happyharrys2011 Careful with those words HH Pardwho got himself banned from the Beeb for similar comments ;-)

For those that dont know/care NUFC Direct the sports clothing arm of NUFC is run by Shlte Direct. All turnover and profits go to said robbing bastads

I would bet my mortgage the deal was brokered through sports direct not NUFC.
