Write it anyway you can to make the club look bad, and all the posters on here who see nothing in the club worth supporting (like that one below, and mickey mouse), and yet still want us to believe they’re Toon supporters, will be your best mate.

...The way I see it is…we have a new coaching set–up…trying to coach out a primitive method that the team has used for years…until it was so bankrupt of ideas it nearly entered the pit from where I doubt it would climb away from anytime soon…that seemed to be what a lot of your misguided mates on here last season, were hoping for though.

...Our 4 new signings who are trying hard to adjust to the harder PL conditions have had to be thrown in against 4 of last seasons PL achievers, and going down to 10men twice didn’t help them and  us to go forward, as the games went on…

...but we weren’t disgraced, and it’s still early days so dry your eyes...because hopefully things can only get better..

After a point against Southampton there was an article on this site saying'its just like watching Brazil".

No criticism of McLaren or his tactics to date. Players need to understand the responsibilty which goes with the shirt. If they are irresponsible they should be dropped for at least one additional game after their ban if not more--eg Janmaat . Send the team on an anger management course. After Mitrovic was rightly sent off against Arsenal for a clumsy naive challenge, three or four others could have gone with him for stupid challenges. Colback, Anita and Flauvin spring to mind for needless challenges from behind guaranteed to earn at least a yellow. Yes Arsenal were diving like swallows but that is the name of the game and players know it, so that is no excuse for pointless rash challenges. Tackling is an art and we are bad at it, like we are amateiurish at many basic skills --corner and free kick delivery, Krul's goal kicking etc etc

@Hughie

his tactics are appalling every single game he plays 4-2-3-1 and we`re over ran

our average possession over those 4 matches amounts to 30%

Wonderful

Think we all knew these first 4 games were going to be very hard. Fancy us to get 5 points in the next 4. Dont think we should read too much into steve's comment as a fighting performance is what we have been after. 'We dont demand a team that wins, just a club that tries' and so far since the ashley interview there cant be too many complaints. It will all fall into place soon enough. Hopefully.
