Ben Arfa “I’d Love To Win Silverware at This Beautiful Club”

It is ironic that on the same day there has been speculation about Ben Arfa moving on ([intlink id=”24998″ type=”post”]see Ben Arfa Linked With Liverpool and New Contract[/intlink]), that elsewhere Hatem is quoted elsewhere saying such positive things about Newcastle United.

Funny old game.

To be fair to our enigmatic Frenchman, he has always spoken glowingly of Newcastle United and the only proviso is that he wants United to show ambition but then don’t we all!

In this interview in The Times, Ben Arfa has only good things to say about the club and everybody around it;

“It is really special to be back, I think we can turn this into a better season than it may have seemed.

I’d love to win titles/silverware. To give all I can so at the end of my career I can look back and not have regrets.

Why not here? It is a beautiful club.

Everything is here to succeed with a great stadium, brilliant fans, good plays; everything is in place.

I have a great sense of pride when I see all of the French players arriving as they are great signings, we have recruited very well.

I have a good relationship with Alan Pardew and he has given me a lot of responsibility, though he has done it gradually and learnt exactly where I play best.

He now has confidence in me which has really helped my game, I now want to repay him for that”.

With only two years left on his contract come the summer, it would be great to see the club get Hatem signed up on a longer deal because I for one can’t wait to see him in the team now we have a better quality of player throughout the team to complement his talents.
