adamcampbell1In their first match of 2013, United’s Under 18s gave everybody at St.James’ Park a lift this morning with an excellent 3-2 win over their Manchester City counterparts.

Greg Olley and Adam Campbell had given Newcastle a two goal lead but City fought back and equalised, only for substitute Jonathyn Quinn to give United a dramatic late winner in the 89th minute.

Ex-Newcastle coach Adam Sadler was in charge of the visiting team and continued their policy of promoting young players up the age groups and so City had a number of under 16 players in the team.

United’s starting team today was;

Woodman, Kitchen, Desmond, Logan, Streete, Satka, Olley, Halliday, Campbell, Gilliead, Aarons

The result will be a big relief to the youth set-up as their last win was way back in October against Stoke.

When are we due to 'pull out of the race'? This seems to have replaced 'couldn't get across the line'

So we have moved from at least pretending to try to blatant apathy. I fear a repeat of 2008-2009 ahead.

Oh goody! We're linked with someone else. I wonder who he'll end up signing for?

O campus never heard of him. Obviously irish  but get him in. Makes a change from all the French lads we have at present and even if he cant play very well should be on the fiddle most days.

His actually from Argentina and not Irish...but I'm pretty sure his going to play well for us

@Kazie23 A joke. Bit like your number 23 which was on the back of a second rate footballer who spent a lifetime at the club without putting a shift in.

What did I say to you??? To make you so upset

I only corrected you about Lucas Ocampos and where his really from

It's about time we are linked with him...And now Riviere can finally be useful for us by convincing Ocampos to join us

And if he does come we should give him the number 11 jersey

Any better than marveaux, obertan etc we need players who can settle immediately carried too many last year

This guy has the potential to be a world class star. if he signed it is a huge statement by the club. Anybody believe it will happen?

@Hetton Mag I'm not sure what to say but he is not that good as he is talked about. Not sure whether you've seen him play but he losses the ball too much and very poor with team work. No consistency. Don't simply believe the youtube videos, it's the compilation of all his best in two years. Watch the full match and you'll know.

IMO I won't mind if we don't get him. For sure we need around not less than six new players though.

I hope we can get him

I really can't see it happening but then again we did sign a good or should I say a big player every year...Cabaye,Ben Arfa,Ba,Cisse,Tiote,Debuchy,Sissoko,Remy,De Jong and Cabella.....Sooo we might get Ocampos in

If just one season ticket is sold on the back of each transfer rumour they'll soon be sold out .
