Carroll Move Confirmed

Following on from speculation earlier today, confirmed tonight that Andy Carroll has moved on a season long loan.

Sky Sports broke the story before tonight’s kick-off and now it has been officially released that the ponytailed one will go to West Ham on a season long loan.

Amongst the speculation it is alleged the Hammers will pay Liverpool a £6m fee for the year’s loan, while it is also claimed that the agreed fee would be £17m if Carroll signs long-term.

Predictable comments from the player himself, though he could hardly come out and admit he was desperate not to go there, as was so evident these past weeks as he waited for Newcastle;

“It’s great to be here at West Ham and all signed up – I just can’t wait to get started now.

I want to be playing games and obviously hoping to score some goals.

I know the manager well and some of the lads, so it is nice for me to come to a place where I know people.

I’m hoping to add a lot of goals and create a few chances. I know Sam from Newcastle and he was a massive reason for me coming.

When I worked with him at Newcastle it was great so it was a no-brainer really”.

I know a good number of fans weren’t positive about bringing Carroll back home but Pardew publicly stated he was interested in bringing Carroll back to Newcastle and if the club fail to bring in another striker by 11pm Friday then you have to accept it leaves us short.
