Issue 105 – November 1997

Over the years we (The Mag) have had some great access to people at the heart of the football club.

Managers, Players, Chairmen – we have interviewed them all. One that sticks in the memory was Kenny Dalglish, notorious for his spikey dealings with the press, I was intrigued to find out whether he would give us the same treatment.

Kenny turned out to be a disaster as a manager at Newcastle but he gave The Mag a very frank interview with interesting in-depth answers and only the occasional slip into being mildly sarcastic/spikey/whatever you want to call it.

Shearer picked up the nightmare pre-season injury just as Les Ferdinand was on his way to White Hart Lane, read on for Kenny’s take on his early days at Newcastle United.
