Tonight’s defeat in mackemland has left the reserves licking their wounds after a decent run of results and performances.

The 3-0 scoreline was also a rarity as the second team had been scoring goals for fun. As always with reserve matches it’s nice to see them win but the priority always has to be whatever helps to get the odd one or two through to the first team eventually. So maybe the odd defeat like this will toughen them up and give them a wake-up call that they have to work even harder.

Ryan Noble scored a hat-trick for the red & whites and no doubt an open-topped bus will now be making its way along Roker sea front, just another step on the learning curve for our bairns though.
